Middle Ages Food
By: Abbey P. The Foods Ate: Every meal that was ate in the Middle Ages was served with bread. The bread was served at the beginning of each meal so they could fill up on the bread. If they would eat the bread, then they wouldn't have to eat as much meat.The people of the Middle Ages used the bread as bowls for the food they ate, so they could soak up the blood from the food and to soak up the broth from the food. The higher class citizens were able to eat more meats because they had more money. Some of the meats that they ate were chicken, pigeons, cows, rabbit, goose and ducks. The lower class citizens ate bread, flawns, and wafers. The flawns were cheese custards and the wafers were a type of cookie that they ate. In the morning, the housewives had to take the bread down to the bakers, and then pick it up later in the day. If the housewives didn't take the bread do wn to be baked, they wouldn't have the bread to eat for dinner.
This was a type of chicken that they would eat.
Important people to the food of the Middle Ages: There weren't that many people that were important in the food of the Middle Ages. There were some important people, and that was the bread bakers, the cooks, and the people to eat the food. If there weren't any bread bakers, people wouldn't be able to have bread before meals, which they would have to buy more meats for dinner.The cooks were also important becuase the people of te Middle Ages didn't cook their own food unless they were part of the lower class. The people of the lower class had to cook their own food becuase they couldn't afford to pay a cook. Of course the people were important otherwise their wouldn't be anyone to eat the food that is made.
The way food effected the life of the Middle Ages:
The food effected the life or the Middle Ages because you need food to live. You can only go three days
food, and the Middle Agers ate everyday. This is the same today.
Events Surrounding the food of the Middle Ages:
The Black Death was a terrible time for the people of the MIddle Ages. The Black Death allowed the poor people to only eat foods such as wheat and vegtables for meals. The kings would hold dinner party's at the castle and they would invite other kings anad their families over to eat.
How does the Food of the MIddle Ages impact the world today:
The food impacts the world today becasue the people that are more wealthy are the ones that go out to dinner alot, have personal chefs, or they eat expensive foods. Another way that the food impacts the world today is that some resturants serve bread before meals.

One interesting fact is that the most important food in the Middle Ages was bread.
Another interesting fact is that they would fill up on the bread so they didn't have to spand a lot of money and could eat smaller portions of meats.
Another fact is that everyone that was old enough drank alcohlic drinks at lunch and dinner
The fourth fact is that the wealthy people would eat spicy foods, or add spices to their food because they got many spces from Asia.
The last fact is that everyone would eat with their families. The kids weren't aloud to et at their friends houses.
