The War of the Roses> By: Katie Stricker
The War of the Roses was a series of the bloodiest civil war period in Medieval England (they were fighting over the crown/who would rule England
since their father/ king was dead)
The war of the roses lasted 30 years
The War of the Roses was called the War of the Roses because of the badges the knights of the houses wore (Lancaster wore red roses, York wore white roses)
The War of the Roses was fought between the House (family) of Lancaster and the House (family) of York in Medieval England from 1455 - 1487.
The House of Lancaster and the House of York were related (direct descendants of the king Edward the third)
Fathers killed sons, brothers killed brothers
Many soldiers died but the deaths did not affect ordinary life
If you were found supporting the other side you were either hung, drawn (stretched), or quartered (had your insides cut out and burnt while alive)
People were sent to poison the other team
King Richard the third, one of the rulers during the war of the roses, was an able and progressive ruler,he was also accused of many murders
Edward the forth became king during the war of the roses
